1. What is Get Set Goal?
Get Set Goal platform helps students, aged over 18, from post-secondary, tertiary or specialized skills training institutes to any student entrepreneur who has a vision to create their project. We also encourage any person or organization creating charity projects to help the environment and those who are in need.

Unlike other conventional fundraising (crowdfunding) platform on solely providing fundraising service, Get Set Goal is a “Reward Funding Platform” that provide “Mentor” service throughout the project life cycle and ascertain the achievement of committed rewards. In other words, we want to make sure your creation has reached its “Goal”, not just started.

Most projects on Get Set Goal adopt an “Fundraising Target” backing method where projects must reach their minimum funding goal; otherwise no money changes hands.
2. What is Reward Funding Platform?
Reward funding is different from other crowdfunding, such as lending, donation, equity, hybrid and royalty. These platforms are solely providing fundraising service.

At Get Set Goal, we provide services throughout the project life cycle and assign Mentors to all projects, in which try to ensure the deliverable of all committed rewards. In other words, we want to make sure the creation has reached its “Goal”, not just started.
3. Who can start a project on Get Set Goal?

4. What kinds of projects?
We actualize innovative projects and bring them to satisfactory results. Any kinds of projects from Art, Craft, Design, Education, Fashion, Game, Music, Publishing, Small Business and Technology, etc. Any innovative idea is welcome to submit. 5. What other supports could Get Set Goal offer?

We guide Project Creator to set realistic funding goals in terms of budget, timeline and backer rewards. Delivery of backer rewards is our core credibility. Get Set Goal and our Mentors assist on most of the reward delivery.
6. What is Mentor? Who can be a Mentor?
Quality is always taking into consideration, we access all submitted project and conduct feasibility study on its possibility by our Mentors. Mentor is an experience individual on providing advice and support over the entire processes. As we want to raise the deliverable possibility, the Mentor will likely involved from the conceptual to final production stage.

Project Creator with successfully funded project might be appointed as Mentor for others new Project Creators. As we cherish all the relevant experience from different fields, we will work with the appointed and/or assigned individual that the Project Creator agreed to each project.
7. What else you could see in Get Set Goal?
  • Respect of privacy rights and the use of user’s personal data are being strictly treated. The term of use and privacy policies will be transparent, please refer to Privacy Policy for detail.
  • We commit to reduce the damage to environment, by supporting green commuting programs, as well as choosing suppliers. For sure, we provide suggestions and guidelines that help Project Creators making environmental caution factor in their projects
8. What is a “Fundraising Target” project?
A “Fundraising Target” means the minimum aggregated Pledged (Backing) Amount (excluding any refunded or will be refunded amount) to be reached as at the Deadline for each Project respectively to become a Funded Project. For full details, please refer to Terms and Conditions.
9. What is the advantage of an "Fundraising Target" backing policy?
There is less risk for everyone. For example, if a Project plans on needing a minimum of $100,000 to execute or complete, but it turns out that it has only received $40,000 backing. As a result, the Project Creator will not receive any of the backings and Project Backers will receive a refund, because with a reduced budget, there is no way that the Project can be executed or completed in the same way as it has originally planned for.
  1. It is easier for Projects to raise funds. A minimum funding goal helps to give Project Backers a better understanding of your Project, and along with the protection by our refund policy, Project Backers are more happy and willing to support you because they feel protected.
  2. Having to reach your funding goal motivates you and your thinking. To bring your great idea to life, you need to be initiated to go out and spread the word to as many people as possible.
10. How do I decide the minimum amount, level of funds and timeline of the campaign? and incentive for Project Backers?
The required commercial value (realistic value) of your project might be difficult to decide, same as the timeline to gather enough Project Backers to support it. We always advise that you set a minimum amount that you need. As the project does not get funded if your minimum goal is not reached by end of the deadline (up to 60 days). If you are uncertain, our professional teams could assist you on deciding the more accurate commercial value and time length of your project. We could also assist you on determine actual production periods after your project funded.
11. How do I decide the incentive for Project Backers?
It is important to make the Project Backers feel that he/she is part of the campaign. The incentive could be an end product, unique souvenirs, or even an experience to the Project Backers that related to your campaign. The most important that it should be coherent with the value of backing.
12. What is Facebook Connect? And should I connect my GET SET GOAL account to Facebook?
Facebook Connect is a common way used by many people to link their Facebook accounts to many other online services. If you want to link your Facebook account to Get Set Goal, you do not need to create a new account. It is just the same as logging in through Facebook, so no new password is needed. It's easy. It's up to you, but many people find that it's the easiest way to log in to Get Set Goal.

If you are not feeling comfortable showing your Facebook profile on Get Set Goal, you can either adjust your privacy settings on your Facebook profile or log in to Get Set Goal by using alternative options. Remember, we give you many choices -- just choose whichever one you are most comfortable with.
13. Can I promote my project?
It is always suggesting to “share” and “tag” your friends for more support. We also suggest to incorporate a budget within the entire campaign to boost up the sponsored posting at Facebook to arouse more exposure. From our experience, successful project starters start promoting by personally engaging their friends to spread the words. They also use Facebook, blogs and club websites to promote their projects. In certain occasion, we will select interesting projects in our advertising campaigns to enhance the Project Backers’ market.
14. Can I raise more fund or recruit more volunteers than my target?
Yes! You can raise as much fund or recruit as many volunteers as you can.
15. How long can I raise funds for? What is Fundraising Target?
As a Project Creator, you need to know:
Funding Type: Fundraising Target
Fund-raising Period 1 – 60 Days
If targeted fund-raising amount cannot be achieved, will the Project Creator receive the accumulated fund? No
Remarks If Project Creator cannot achieve the target, Get Set Goal will return all the funds raised to supporters – Project Backers. For full details, please refer to Terms and Conditions.
16. What is the admin fee of Get Set Goal?
Our fees depend on which funding option you choose. Stripe also charges an online transaction fee equivalent to 3-5% of fund raised.

All charges will be subjected to agreed project proposal.
17. How do I start a project?
You could simply “submit” your project through Get Set Goal website or email us your idea. Our professional coaches will advise you.
18. Can I edit my project after the project has ended?
After a project's funding campaign period has ended, all project's information, including write-up, video, photos, rewards, profile, FAQs, etc. are normally kept unchanged as of the time of completion. However, we would suggest all Project Creators to update Backers from time to time on their working progress through emails and other social network platform, such as Facebook.
19. Can I delete my project after I have launched it, and how long does a project remain on Get Set Goal?
No, once a project is launched on Get Set Goal, it cannot be deleted. It does not matter whether the minimum funding goal is reached, or is not reached. In each case, a project will remain on Get Set Goal if Get Set Goal wishes to keep it on display.
20. If I delete my Get Set Goal account, will my projects also be deleted?
No, your project will not be deleted even if you delete your Get Set Goal account.
21. Can I launch and run more than one project at the same time?
There is no limit on project submission. You as a Project Creator could submit number of projects at the same time, as long as they all meet our requirements. As a matter of courtesy, we want to remind you that running multiple projects concurrently might require a lot of effort to manage and market them all. Therefore, you need to revalue whether you have the sufficient time and resources to handle multiple projects at once.
22. How do I know my idea is not going to be stolen?
Get Set Goal is not a retail shop, we are a showcase platform to display your ideas, and to interact with your potential Project Backers. But if you are not prepared to openly share information about your project, then Get Set Goal will assist you to look more protection, such as, Trademark, Patent, etc.
23. Can I set a limit on the numbers of a reward that I offer?
Yes, you certainly can, it's all up to you.
1. How do I pay?
Payment is easy. You can pay with:
  1. Cheque
  2. Cash Deposit
  3. Visa, Master or American Express.
2. When will my credit card be charged?
If it is a Fundraising Target, Get Set Goal will (i) bank in the cheque; (ii) to charge your credit card only after the project meets its 1 – 60 days funding target.
3. Will Get Set Goal or Project Creators receive my credit card information?
We do not pass any of your credit card information to Project Creators, and according to Privacy Policy.

The credit card information only will be handled:
  1. by Stripe, in which Get Set Goal will keep the information
  2. by China UnionPay
4. How do I receive my rewards?
If a project meets its funding target, the Project Creator will receive all the funds to execute the project, and therefore create the rewards. We will provide your contact details (name and email) to the project starter and they will contact you about reward details.

When deciding whether to sponsor a project, make sure you are comfortable with the Project Creator’s capability and the risk the project involves. Get Set Goal is a platform for new ideas that haven’t existed, which means we don’t rule out ideas because we feel the project starters can’t do it or the idea is too novel, and so we can’t guarantee if projects will be executed as expected. Project Creators bear all responsibilities for delivering rewards.
1. On all the project, who is responsible for fulfilling the promises made by a Project Creator?
The responsibility for fulfilling and completing all the promises shall lie on the Project Creator. Fulfilling what a project promises, including the rewards is solely the Project Creator’s responsibility. Get Set Goal reviews projects to see if they violate our guidelines but Get Set Goal does not guarantee or investigate, or assess, or endorse the background or integrity of the Project Creator or whether the Project Creator has the ability to complete a project. Get Set Goal is not responsible.
2. How could I ensure the identity of the Project Creator?
Under normal circumstances, you may already know the Project Creator, or you may have heard about the project from a reliable source. If you have doubt or uncertainty of the whatever sources you have. We suggest you go and ask questions to find out more for yourself. You can also look for the Project Creator's Facebook and/or other social network platforms.
3. What should I do if I have questions about a project?
The first thing you should do is go ask the Project Creator himself directly. On each project, you could follow through Facebook and/or email all your questions to the Project Creator.
